Netflix debuted over 1,000 hours of original content in 2017. It spent around $6 billion on original content for 2017 and has already announced it will spend $8 billion in original content this year.

Here’s my Top 5 Netflix shows that I just can’t get enough of right now! Although I’m the worlds biggest book person, I still love to sit down and watch some TV. Usually Myself and my husband like to watch certain shows together. Which is a great way to set up time to spend with each other. On of the most surprising shows for me was The Crown. We watched season 1 & 2 over the Christmas holidays and I was blown away. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it! The amount of googling we did while watching this show was funny! Mindhunter was another big favourite with both of us.

Books to TV: Shadowhunters

So who’s watching Shadowhunters? This is an American fantasy television series based on The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.

I myself was sad when they decided they weren’t going to make anymore of the movies. I thought the movie was ok and not the worst adaption of a book. Ok it could have been a hell of a lot better but still wasn’t the worst! I’ve been watching the series and although at the start was a little “eh this could be better!” I’ve grown to like it and will continue with it.

Its also been released that the show has been renewed for another season. Which is exciting.

So the first episode starts with Clary (Fray), who has just enrolled at Brooklyn Academy of Arts. On her eighteenth birthday, she learns that she is a Shadowhunter, a human born with angelic blood who protect humans from demons. That night, Clary’s mother, Jocelyn Fray, is abducted by a group of rogue Shadowhunters of “The Circle”. Their leader is Jocelyn’s husband Valentine Morgenstern. Although Clary has no idea any of this because her memory has been wiped by her mother to keep her safe. (Yeah looked how that worked out!)

With her mother missing, Clary turns to Luke, a person she trusted, only to seemingly be betrayed. Clary joins up with a band of Shadowhunters to save her mother and discovers powers she never knew she possessed. Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with the mysterious, narcissistic, and attractive Shadowhunter, Jace, and also her loyal and geeky friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

There are a few things that bother me. The girl who plays Clary, Katherine McNamara is a little annoying, but over the last few episodes she’s started to get less annoying thank god and has made the show a lot more watchable.

Over all, I’m enjoying the show and I can see them putting a lot of the books and the info in the books into the TV show.

Books to TV: Outlander

So Outlander is back this month and I know I’m not alone when I say I’m so excited! Its kinda funny, I got into this show by accident and hadn’t read the books. My mam handed me the boxset and said “This is amazing, watch it!”

I watched it and then went damn I should have at least read the first book before watching it because I loved it so much. Now I’m at a cross road as such because I want to read the books written by Diana Gabaldon but season 2 of Outlander is due to start back next week and time is not on my side.

So Yeah I’m still way excited to for it to begin and for me to get my Jamie on 😉

What do you lovelies think?
