Netflix debuted over 1,000 hours of original content in 2017. It spent around $6 billion on original content for 2017 and has already announced it will spend $8 billion in original content this year.
Here’s my Top 5 Netflix shows that I just can’t get enough of right now! Although I’m the worlds biggest book person, I still love to sit down and watch some TV. Usually Myself and my husband like to watch certain shows together. Which is a great way to set up time to spend with each other. On of the most surprising shows for me was The Crown. We watched season 1 & 2 over the Christmas holidays and I was blown away. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it! The amount of googling we did while watching this show was funny! Mindhunter was another big favourite with both of us.
Mindhunter
Aired October 2017
Catching a criminal often requires the authorities to get inside the villain’s mind to figure out how he thinks. That’s the job of FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench. They attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Along the way, the agents pioneer the development of modern serial-killer profiling. The crime drama has a strong pedigree behind the camera, with Oscar-nominated director David Fincher and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron among the show’s executive producers
Stranger Things
Season 2
Aired October 2017
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
The Crown
Season 2
Aired December 2017
Based on an award-winning play (“The Audience”) by show-runner Peter Morgan, this lavish, Netflix-original drama chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II (Claire Foy) from the 1940s to modern times. The series begins with an inside look at the early reign of the queen, who ascended the throne at age 25 after the death of her father, King George VI. As the decades pass, personal intrigues, romances, and political rivalries are revealed that played a big role in events that shaped the later years of the 20th century.
Glow
Aired June 2017
Alison Brie stars as Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work actress living in Los Angeles in the ’80s. Wilder finds an unexpected chance at stardom: enter the glitter and spandex-laden world of women’s wrestling, where she must work alongside 12 other Hollywood misfits. Marc Maron plays the role of Sam Sylvia, a washed-up director of “B” movies who tries to lead the group of women to fame. The series is created by Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive, who serve as executive producers with Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann.
Alias Grace
Aired November 2017
Based on the 1996 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name, “Alias Grace” tells the story of young Grace Marks, a poor Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who is accused and convicted of the 1843 murder of her employer and his housekeeper. Stablehand James McDermott is also convicted of the crime. McDermott is hanged, but Grace is sentenced to life in prison, leading her to become one of the most notorious women of the period in Canada. The story is based on actual 19th-century events.

I never knew I was into British royalty but it seems netflix has a strange way of getting you into things you never knew you liked. I’m gonna take you up on that mindhunter recommendation just because it does sound awesome! thanks 🙂

You gotta watch the show “Dark”! It’s a German Netflix original that is kind of similar to Stranger Things but is way darker, more mature and better. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time
