I decided to write down 17 things I wanted to do in 2017. I wasn’t sure what I wanted on my list so I took the month of January to put it together. There not new years resolutions, I have some of them already. They are just things I want to do for myself. They may not be the most adventurous but there my adventures!
1 Gin Kit -I got a Gin kit for Christmas. A great present and I’m looking forward to trying it out. I’m a big lover of Gin and I like to try new brands every now and again. This will be fun. I also think I’m going to get my husband a beer making kit so he can make some craft beer.
2 10 Week boot camp – I started this at the start of Jan and so far so uh who am I kidding it hurts and it’s supposed too, so I’m not going to complain. But because I’m doing it with a great bunch of people I’m enjoying it.
3 Lose 2 stone – I’m on my way to this goal in fact I’m nearly half way there. I hope maybe to lose more but I didn’t want to put too big a goal that I’d be overwhelmed to much by it.
4 Try a different lipstick every working day of the week. I have hundreds of lipsticks and I need to start using the ones I like and clearing out the ones I don’t like. This is a good way to determine which ones I do like and which ones are crap. I’m not too sure if I’m succeeding in this one. I do tend to wear a lipstick everyday but it’s not always a new one! Ek but I ‘m finding lipsticks I love and know I want to keep. There are not many on the clear out pile yet!
5 Do a yoga class. I was only talking about this with my husband the other day. I think it that it would be a great way to de stress.
6 In the summer take my bike out more. I love doing this but I didn’t do it nearly enough last year.
7 Spend as much time with family as possible. I know this sounds like a no brainer. But sometimes we can allow work and other things come first. OF course we have to work to live but we also have to know what comes first in life and that’s our loved ones and family. Life’s short, I’ve learnt this in the last few years!
8 Drink more water – this is very easy for me to do in work but when I get home or if I’m off I tend to forget about it.
9 Feel less ashamed for taking pictures and try to take more videos. I love taking pictures and I did a 366 days of pictures last year. I loved it and I can’t believe I followed through right to the end of the year. But I tend to get stick from family members and friends. I also tend to feel bad about this. I’m going to say “feck it” this year and try to care less. I’m also doing another 365 days this year. But I have a feeling 2017 is the year of the video. 2016 was definitely the year of the selfie.
10 Go to the cinema more – I’ve failed at this a little already. I had said to the hubster let’s try get to the cinema every second week. This hasn’t happened so far this year, but I’m really going to try for once a month.
11 Save for a Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, My mam got one for Christmas and they are very expensive but using hers just once I know it’s worth it. So I’m going to save a little a month for a 3 months and have one by the end of spring. I know I could just blow the money now, but I wouldn’t feel good about doing that. If I save a little each month I won’t even notice it.
12 Writing down everything that I eat. This is just to be more aware of what I’m eating. In the few weeks I’ve been doing this I feel more conscious of what I eat in the long run. i also find myself reaching for fruit more and this is because I know I’ll have to write it down. I know makes no sense but sure….
13 Try to buy less make up. This will be a real struggle for me. I’m addicted to beautiful make up. But I feel I need to just buy what I need and a treat every now and again. This should be enough.
14 Go to more gigs. I enjoy them so much but yet they always take a second place in my life. I don’t prioritize them at all. Even if in 2017 I could get to one every 3 months I’d be happy with that.
15 Take a few more weekends away with my husband while we can. This is something we tried to do last year and we had some great little holidays. I want to do that again this year if funds allow.
16 Try something new. I’m generally pretty good at this. I like to try new things ever now and again. But I defiantly want to try a few new things this year. As small as making a new recipe and I’d be happy.
17 De-clutter my home. This has been on my mind for a while. I feel like I need to get some clutter out of my life and maybe this will help me not feel like the walls are closing in at times. I think this is a good thing to do once a year anyway. But I plan to do it room but room and not overwhelm myself. I want to remove items in my bedroom that don’t allow you to sleep well. I want to throw out crap I don’t use in my kitchen to make more room in my very small kitchen. I’ve already started this task and I plan on smashing it! I also read somewhere that you should throw out 7 things in a room once a week. Now I’m not sure about this but it could be as small as newspaper or magazine. It could be do-able.
