Five Go.. Enid Blyton for Adults

Five Go Parenting, Five Go Gluten Free and Five on Brexit Island

So Five leap on the Ladybird bandwagon and after the book publishing phenomenon of last Christmas, now even Enid Blyton gets its own spoof ‘adult’ treatment that’s written by humorist Bruno Vincent. The series, which is no more then 96 pages which have all been released in November by Quercus, an imprint of Hachette, which bought the rights to Blyton’s estate in 2012.

Enid Blyton died in 1968, at the age of 71, having written hundreds of children’s books, including 21 full-length Famous Five novels. Her daughter Imogen Smallwood, Has commented on these new books saying ‘Oh my goodness, I know absolutely nothing about them. It is completely news to me and I don’t think I want to know.’ To me this doesn’t sound good.

These books would make a great stocking feeler this Christmas.

I haven’t had the time as yet to pick  them up but I will in the next few weeks and not to talk to soon but I have a feeling I will like them. Have you  read them yet? What did you think of them? Are they worth a read? Enquiring minds want to know!
