Suddenly Dating (Lake Haven, #2)

Suddenly Dating (Lake Haven #2) by Julia London

Release Date: 8/11/16

If only Lola Dunne had the time—and the courage—she’d write her novel, and maybe even start dating again. When her friend offers the use of her summer home overlooking Lake Haven, Lola sees the chance to focus on herself for a change, and she eagerly accepts.

Engineer Harry Westbrook is waiting for his ship to come in. But it’s not happening soon enough for his girlfriend, who’s left him for good…again. To nurse Harry’s heartache, his pal extends an invite to his lake house in East Beach.

When it turns out that Harry’s and Lola’s friends are a divorcing, not-on-speaking-terms couple sparring over the same house, the strangers find themselves accidental (and reluctant) roommates for the summer. They agree to make the best of it, even posing as a couple to mingle among East Beach’s well-heeled crowd. But the ruse is starting to feel real—and romantic. Are they brave enough to reveal their feelings before the summer nights turn cold?

3 Sweet stars on goodreads, Read from November 08 to 09, 2016

Lola hasn’t got much self esteem, She is belittled by her mother on a regular basis. She has just been dumped by the man she loves and she feels like she’s hit rock bottom! She knows it’s time she started thinking about herself and the first step is doing something she’s always wanted to do. Her friend offers her a a luxurious holiday of a life time in their home in Lake Haven and she knows this is her chance to do something for herself and get herself out of her rot.

Harry is an engineer and is really trying to start up his own business. His girlfriend is not happy with him and has asked for a “Break” of the permanent kind. She leaves him and he takes a friends offer to live at his lake house for the summer. Living at the lake house is brilliant, that is until he comes home one night and finds a beautiful stranger in the house.

This is a sweet and quirky romance!  It took me a while to warm to this read and to warm to Lola, but as the story went along and we learned more about her life and family, I got more into it. It was a nice read and I think that a lot of people will really like it, but it wasn’t really for me!
