3.5 Protector Stars,Read from September 07 to 09, 2016

I had been hearing such great things about this book and in the end I just had to see what everyone was talking about. The Protector is a brand new standalone by Jodi Ellen Malpas. This was my first read from Jodi Ellen Malpas and I’m not sure how that has happened.

I loved the whole back and forth between Jake and Camille when they hadn’t quite clicked yet. It took them awhile but under all the fighting, you can feel the sexual tension. It was really gripping and I loved it.  However it was very flat at times and bored me a little. Don’t get me wrong it was a good read, but it just underwhelmed me at times. I’d love to go into what I didn’t like but I really don’t want to give any spoilers away!

All my subjects were a job. A duty. A way to maintain my selfish purpose. I needed to forget everything about my previous life. My subjects gave me focus.
Camille Logan spun that on its head. She gave me a reason to confront my demons. She made me feel and love again.

In saying all that I will pick up some more of Jodi’s books in the future.
