Review: Visibly Broken by Chelsea Camaron & M.J. Fields

Visibly Broken

Visibly Broken by Chelsea Camaron & M.J. Fields

Release Date: 20/09/16

In a powerful, smoldering novel from the bestselling authors of the Caldwell Brothers series (“Bad boy heroes to die for!”—Tracy Wolff), two tortured souls team up to overcome the past, finding the courage to heal . . . and to love.

Jason “Cobra” Stanley was born to fight. With a father like his, he had to toughen up just to survive. Now Cobra tries to take out all of his frustration, all of his anger, and all of his pain in the MMA cage. But after he receives one too many hits to the head during a match with Jagger Caldwell, the cycle of violence comes to a screeching halt. Cobra wakes up in the hospital, under the care of a nurse whose blond hair shines like a halo—and whose pure heart touches him on the deepest level.

Lorraine Bosch is a fighter too. Having escaped from her own controlling father, she prides herself on remaining professional, despite the chaos of the ER. But Cobra is the ultimate distraction. Lorraine knows she should run away screaming from his rippling muscles and shattered psyche. And yet how can she deny this broken man a second chance—especially since she knows exactly what he’s been through? Lorraine’s used to playing guardian angel. Now it’s her turn to find heaven in Cobra’s arms.

Intensely Stars on Goodreads, Read from July 21 to 22, 2016

“I’m falling in love with a man who calls me Angel and himself a monster.”

Wow just wow, this was so intensely fecked up on so many levels! But I loved it and couldn’t get enough. I read it nearly in one reading and I would highly recommend it if your looking for a good dark read.

He calls me his Angel,
but I know better.
I know he’s mine.

Review: Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson

Just Kiss Me

Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson

Release Date:26/07/16

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gibson returns with this dazzling love story filled with sizzle, sass, and just a bit of southern charm…

“Hello, Ms. Vivian . . . it’s been a long time.”

And with those words, Vivian Leigh Rochet nearly melted. It’s been years since she last saw Harrison Whitley-Shuler. She was a teenager scrubbing houses for a living. He was the gorgeous son of rich parents, not fit for the likes of her.

Vivian had vowed to get out of Charleston, become a big Hollywood star, and stick it to the snooty girls who made her cry.

She got what she wanted—and more—but why does her glamorous life seem so trivial?

Harrison got out too . . . making it all the way to Wall Street, until a heart attack forced him to trade in his cuff-links for a good set of hand tools.

Making furniture soothes his soul, but escaping the Whitley-Shuler heritage is nearly impossible. And now he’s come face-to-face with the one who got away. He’s not looking for love. He’s not even looking for sex . . . so why is resisting her the hardest thing he’s ever done?

Review:

4 Southern Stars on Goodreads, Read on July 20, 2016

As with all my favourite authors, when they have a new release I get nervous. I needed of been nervous starting Just Kiss Me. I loved it. It was such a nice read. Parts broke me and I really felt Vivian’s pain. Although there was a point in it where I wanted to smack her silly as well. Wont say anything more as I don’t wanna give anything away.

If your looking for  nice light read or are a fan of Rachel Gibson pick this up you wont regret it.

Book Review: The Stars Landing Deviant (Stars Landing #5) by Jessica Gadziala

The Stars Landing Deviant (Stars Landing, #5)

The Stars Landing Deviant (Stars Landing #5) by Jessica Gadziala

Release Date: 06/08/15

There’s a lot of things you expect from a quaint little town like Stars Landing: homemade jam, country dances, friendly neighbors. One thing you don’t plan on is a man like DANE BRODERICK: six and a half feet of solid muscle, tattoos, raw animalistic sex appeal, and ego enough for ten men.

CORDELIA CAMERON has accepted a lot of things about herself: she’s uptight, a swirling mess of anxiety, and she will probably never know what an orgasm feels like. What she didn’t realize was how unprepared she was for a man like Dane Broderick. So when he sets his sights on her: not offering her flowers or candy or to even remember her name, but promising the kind of sex that would make her second-guess her previously conceived beliefs and limits, she was helpless to do anything but fall into his arms.

But things are not as they seem and trouble is finding its way to Stars Landing, threatening to throw Cordelia’s life spiraling into a new and unexpected direction…

5 Deviant Stars on Goodreads, Read from July 17 to 18, 2016.

I went into this book saying to myself Uh Dane! Well I never! I loved this addition to the Stars Landing series. I might even go as far as saying it was my favourite book in the series! Although that’s hard to say because the whole series so far as been amazing!

But Dane and Cordy’s story broke me! I cried like a baby! So yeah well worth a read!

Oldie but a Goody Wednesday: Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton

There’s something about ‘Rumble Fish’ that makes me read it a few times every year.

S.E. Hinton writes more like a noir writer than a YA one, complete with flashbacks, delusional madness and death. Her uncanny ability to get into a teenage boy’s mind and do so with intensive insight is nothing short of remarkable.

“Even the most primate societies have an innate respect for the insane.”
